Posture is the position in which you hold your body upright against gravity while standing, sitting or lying down. Good posture involves training your body to stand, walk, sit and lie in positions where the least strain is placed on supporting muscles and ligaments during movement or weight-bearing activities. Pilates Boot Camp is a progressive Pilates and cardio conditioning class. Our Pilates Boot Camp class has very specific intent, our class is designed to improve posture, core strength, flexibility and cardio. The purpose of this class is to condition your body to burn fat. Body fat measurements and the measuring tape are recognized as superior methods for measuring “weight loss”. When one declares that they want to “lose weight”, what they often mean is that they want to lose fat.
First, your body fat percentage is simply the percentage of fat your body contains. If you are 150 pounds and 10% fat, it means that your body consists of 15 pounds fat and 135 pounds lean body mass (bone, muscle, organ tissue, blood and everything else).

What to expect
You will receive individual and expert attention from a certified Egoscue Method, Posture Alignment Specialist for analysis and relief of your pain condition. Your appointment will begin with an interview and description of the treatment. This is followed by various e-cises which relieve pain and show the source of the problems. What Is A Medicine Ball?
The earliest description of what is now called a “medicine ball” can be found in ancient Greek and Egyptian writings. Hippocrates was even rumored to have treated his patients with a heavy padded ball: perhaps that is how the medicine ball earned its name.
Medicine ball training can be found in literature of the 1900’s describing exercise where a medicine ball is handed, carried, thrown, caught, lifted and balanced. As interest grew in weight training, the medicine ball fell into disuse in the United States. Martial Arts and Boxing were the only disciplines that continued to use a medicine ball, often for exercises that simulated blows to the body.
Medicine ball training has always helped European athletes. In the United States, since the early 1980’s a rediscovering of the medicine ball by coaches, trainers and others has brought back an invaluable tool with which to integrate new knowledge into their sports training systems.

Taking the first step
So how does it work? The first step is to schedule a Free Consultation. The purpose of the consultation is to first and foremost determine if our programs fit your needs. If I do not think our programs fit your needs I will tell you so and either turn you away or refer you elsewhere. During the consultation process we will discuss your wants, needs, goals, exercise history, medical history, availability and rates. This is also a time to determine if we are compatible, we do not accept all prospective clients. The most common reason for turning people away is unrealistic expectations.
